New Month, New Challenges

It’s already the 4th day of April, can you believe it? This year is really flying by–or maybe it just seems that way to me because I have some BIG decisions to make this year and I am no closer to making them than I was around January 1, albeit it for different reasons.

I almost lost all of my work on several projects this past month because of a flash drive that died. I understand there are places that can get the data off for more money than I care to spend, but basically, it’s dead. Luckily, I usually write things out on paper first before I type them out, and I print things off to proofread, so most things are salvageable. The only thing is, I don’t have the best draft of the first draft as I correct obvious mistakes and am hit with better ways to say things when I type up my notes. I reorganize where paragraphs should go, etc. So it’s like I’m at ground zero, structure wise. But at least I have some schematics to start with.

It’s also been a challenging month, so far, at work. I think I’m rising to the challenges fairly well, better than last week, but we’ll see how the month goes. I’m going to be out of the office Friday and Monday, so we’ll see what chaos I return to on Tuesday.

Oh, where am I going? I’m going to MH’s grandmother’s 90 birthday celebration in Alabama. It’s meet the family part II because I’m meeting some members I hadn’t met before. Naturally, I feel massively fat and hotmess/trainwreck chic, but hopefully a fresh hairdo, face mask, and a few good walks on the trail will change my perspective.

More later…
